About the DVB-H Trial

A limited number of South African field trialists have been issued with a DVB-H enabled cellphone, which has been enabled to receive a digital television signal for the duration of the trial.

A DVB-H enabled cellphone allows the user to enjoy a range of cellphone applications and services, but it also has a unique TV function that offers access to DStv Mobile; a trial bouquet of selected DStv television and audio channels. The DVB-H enabled cellphone is fitted with a special receiver so that it can pick up the encrypted DVB-H signal, provided that it is within range of one of the DVB-H transmitters. These specially erected transmitters send the DVB-H signal to the cellphone. Contact us for further information.
